The Lovers by Alaleh Mohajerani (2025)
A card of great love. Card number six is The Lovers.
The Lovers card is ruled by the astrological sign Gemini, Latin for “the twins.” Corresponding with the third month of the Iranian calendar, Xordād, the month is named after Haurvatāt, one of the seven Amesha Spenta, the archangels of Zoroastrianism. Represented by a circle, Haurvatāt is the embodiment of Wholeness and Perfection, and is associated with the element of water. Her symbolic offering, a cup, is seen being shared in a garden of roses and nightingales (the rose and nightingale are the allegorical lovers of Persian poetry). Hovering above them is Vāyu-Vāta, the dual-natured divinity of Atmosphere and Wind. Simultaneously benevolent and malevolent, Vāyu-Vāta was one of the helpers of Haurvatāt, indicating that with the right wind and atmosphere, wholeness and perfection are possible.
Divinatory Meaning: love, partnership, beauty, wholeness, perfection; also choices, decisions, duality
